亚历山德拉•斯科菲尔德 is our current FSU Peer Education Network President. Peer education has been influential in her life since her high school years. While still in high school, Schofield was a member of a Youth in Action program run through the local health department. During her four years with the program, she helped educate her classmates through radio ads, 社交媒体, 公告板, 和嵌合. This role allowed her to develop her love for leadership.

之后, Schofield went on to serve a contract with her local AmeriCorps program, engaging in prevention and education within her community. Through this opportunity, she became part of a program that served kids in grades 3-8 who were living with or through adverse childhood experiences. 在这个角色中, she played a crucial role in educating and supporting these students as they returned to school full time. Her work not only involved education but also included starting preventative measures against self-destructive behaviors.

Schofield's dedication to community involvement extended to her role as an elected member on the Garrett County Drug Free Communities Coalition Board. In this capacity, she served as the student member of the board for Garrett College. 目前, she is actively working to create a similar position on Frostburg's board for both college and high school levels. When she's not on campus, you can find her on the docks at Deep Creek Lake, 铲式冰淇淋, or enjoying the beauty of the state parks surrounding her.

Vice-President 瑞安·巴特勒. A recent Graduate of Allegany College of Maryland class of Spring 2022, he is now attending Frostburg State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. For the past 7-years he has worked Part-time at the YMCAs of Fredericksburg and 工作人员ord Rappahannock Area YMCA as the Assistant Director of childcare, and Cumberland branch as an afterschool teacher. As Frostburg participated in the Burg Peer Education and became a nationally certified Peer educator. Throughout my employment with the Y, he has gained certifications in Medical Administration, 急救和心肺复苏术, leadership and team management, and occupational health and safety.

Abbigayle Rowton

Abbigayle Rowton always had a passion for animals, saying how she wanted to be a Marine Biologist at age six. The job she wishes to obtain has changed but never too far from what she’s originally had planned. Abbigayle hopes to join an agency that specializes in conservation for endangered species once she finished schooling. Abby’s always been someone involved in group activities as she grew up, being a competitive athlete for years. She joined the Peer Education Network before school started last fall. 去年, the BURG network helped her grow as an individual, and this semester she’s excited to take on the role of Treasurer.

Chris Parris is a transfer student from Columbia, Maryland. Chris attended Howard 社区 College for two years before transferring to Frostburg State University. During his youth, Chris was a member of the Boy Scouts of America. He earned the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout in 2020. When Chris was in high school, he was a staff writer for the school newspaper, the Hammond Bear Press. Chris aspires to be a broadcast journalist for either television or radio. In his free time, Chris likes to write stories and self-educate himself on various topics of history. Other passions include cinema and amateur photography.
