FSU offers many resources for students to build and succeed in their academic plan.
Center for Academic Advising and Retention
The Center for Academic Advising and Retention (CAAR) offers advising for first year students, undeclared and transitional students, and helps students on academic probation build a plan to get back on track.
The 促进学生成功的项目 (PASS) office provides services in placement testing, 发展数学, 语言技能发展, study skills help and peer-assisted learning, 学术见习计划, 和辅导.
The tutoring center offers individual tutoring sessions in writing and content courses, 包括生物学, 化学, 数学, 和地理.

The 学生无障碍服务 program empowers students by building up awareness, advocacy and self-determination for students with disabilities. SAS works with partners across campus to create a safe and nurturing community for students to succeed in all aspects of their lives.

Reporting a concern with professional behavior of faculty or staff
If you are experiencing or witnessing a concerning behavior from a member of the College of Arts, 人文学科, 和社会 & 行为科学 faculty or staff, the Dean's Office is here to help. Feel free to schedule an appointment by contacting Cindy Troutman at 301.687.4120 or ctroutman@faithfulwebdesign.net.
If the incident concerns sexual misconduct or hate and/or bias, we recommend using the relevant reporting form with the 学生事务处.

If you feel you received a grade you did not earn, you can initiate the grade grievance procedure, outlined under "University Procedures for Review of Alleged Arbitrary and Capricious Grading" in the undergraduate course catalog. The Dean's Office recommends that students wishing to undergo this procedure keep copies of all graded assignments, 课程大纲, 与导师的沟通, and any other relevant course materials.
Students must be able to prove their grade was "arbitrary" and "capricious." As stated in the course catalog, these terms mean:
- the assignment of a course grade to a student on some basis other than performance in the course
- the assignment of a course grade to a student by unreasonable application of standards different from the standards that were applied to other students in that course; or
- the assignment of a course grade by a substantial and unreasonable departure from the instructor’s initially articulated standards.
迟退课程
If you have an extenuating circumstance (for example, serious illness) requiring late withdrawal from a College of Arts, 人文学科, 和社会 & 行为科学课程, you must obtain authorization from the Dean with information from the instructor of the course. You obtain the proper form for a late course withdrawal from the Registrar's office or the College of Arts, 人文学科, 和社会 & 行为科学院长办公室.
